Erin is a certified doula and co-founder of Sursum Corda.

Sursum Corda means "Lift up your heart." We recognize the sacred nature of bringing a human into the world. We separate ourselves from other doulas by our dedication to advocate for the needs and desires of the mother, baby, and partner. With open hearts we care for you, as you open yourself to your baby.

Who We Are
We are Sursum Corda, a team of DONA certified doulas and educators with extensive experience in prenatal and postpartum care as well as labor and delivery support. We take a limited number of clients so that we can be deeply invested in each one. ​Click here for more information. 

Our History
The first birth that Erin Iwata (co-founder of Sursum Corda) attended was a home water birth. She was just 15 years old and it changed her perception of birth forever. Many years later, through collaboration with local doula Heather Robertson and DONA certification, Sursum Corda was formed. You can learn more about our beginning here.
